The Pixeled Spoon

(stills taken a second apart: starting from the top down, the red arrows point to abnormalities of the left edge and top right masking where the superimposed screen was aligned and keyed in.   This, while the camera is not moving, and while the still on the screen remains the same)

p.s. ‘motion tracking’ was used in the video for the song ‘if gunshy/plum’ which was made over 10 years ago (2000).  the part of the video i refer to is the ‘uterine-baby’ that sings. these were two individually recorded videos keyed into one, such as the above.

also, more recently, Apple Inc. used this kind of motion tracking to replace the screen in all these shots.

It is noticeable that the surveillance camera taking the video is roughly three to four feet off the ground, mounted to an inanimate object, and being remotely controlled.

(below image shows the path of two selected points taken from a random :30 seconds of video.  The video does not zoom in or out, but moves in a slow horizontal path indicating the camera being mounted and unbalanced.

Only a few years ago, video editing programs became so powerful that even children or amateur videographers had access to tools that were previously nonexistent – further blurring the lines between fiction and non-fiction (as seen here in motion).
